Ashley’s Angels is a non-profit organization founded by Kara and Howard Fraiman in memory and honor of Ashley Faye, their daughter. Ashley was born with an incurable neurological disease and had many special needs. Palliative Care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia created a better life for both Ashley and her family.
Palliative Care involves a team approach to medical care and pain management, as well as emotional and spiritual support. The focus of Palliative Care is the belief that each one of us has the right to live and die pain-free, in a dignified manner, and that the family receives enormous support to allow this to happen. Palliative Care is not covered by medical insurance. The main source of revenue is through contributions that allow children to receive care that would otherwise not be available.
